Trajectory Over Position

We give less emphasis on where people start — their position — and more emphasis on how they move: their trajectory.

We would rather work with someone who is low position, high trajectory than someone who is high position, low trajectory.

Position is a snapshot. Trajectory is a story. A snapshot tells you where someone is today. A story tells you where they're going.

Someone at the beginning of their career who is learning fast, taking feedback seriously, and pushing themselves into discomfort — that person will compound. Someone who has accumulated titles and credentials but stopped growing is coasting on past momentum.

This isn't idealism. It's how compounding works. The person with the steeper curve will overtake the person with the higher starting point. The only question is when.

When you're hiring, mentoring, or choosing who to work with — look for the curve, not the snapshot.
